In high production environments, many measuring systems cannot continually sustain 100% component inspection. This paper discusses how fast, accurate and reliable measurements can be performed using flexible 2D optical architecture systems versus other methodologies. An automotive case history is included as well as technical background of the Marposs Optoflash optical measuring unit, explaining the 2D optical operating principles, cycles of measurement, analysis and application, typical 2D optical measuring tasks, and the benefits of this methodology.
